- Remove the spark plug and put a few drops of 10W-30 oil into the cylinder
- Clean the spark plug, check and if necessary, adjust the gap; leave it aside
- Turn the engine over a couple of times gently by hand (holding in the starting clutch where applicable) to spread the oil
- Check and adjust chain (and/or drive-belt) tension
- Check and adjust brake play
- Put some lubricating oil (such as WD-40) onto the wheel-bearings, joints, all moving parts
- While on the stand, put the moped in bicycle mode (engine should not be engaged at all) and turn the pedals a few times
- Lubricate the chain(s), watch for seized links, apply WD-40 to free them up
- Inflate the tires and check the pressure
- Put back and tighten the spark plug
- Put a small amount of oil-gas mixture in the proper ratio into the tank, open the gas valve and watch for leaks
- Fill up with proper mixture halfway, shake it vigorously, drain it all to remove small particles and sediment from the tank wall
- Fill up again half way
- Go out and start the engine by pedaling with the choke on
- Let the engine run; leave the choke on as long it is necessary and watch if it runs properly
- Check if all the lights, horn etc. all work, try the brakes
- Once warm, let it run for 5 minutes without choke on the stand; if the engine starts coughing, drain gas, clean the carburetor and the fuel line
