Our coach is Mike Anson (343-2603). He is certified by the USFA, friendly, and bears no resemblance to a drill instructor. He believes that fencing should be fun, and the atmosphere of the club is very relaxed. He emphasizes traditional form over flicks and other aggressive tactics, but will teach you whatever you wish to learn (as long as it's not hazardous).

The coach also gives lessons at his home, and sells some fencing equipment. For more info, see his webpage.

If you are insterested in fencing, please feel free to come check us out! A t-shirt and sweat pants are all you need (plus athletic shoes. Please don't wear ones that leave black marks on the floor). Many people watch fencing the first time and are intimidated by the speed of the action. All of us felt the same way when we started. If you have an interest in the sport, don't let the pace of things intimidate you. Try it for a couple of nights and you'll start to get the hang of things.

Fencing is excellent exercise, will improve your flexibility, balance, and coordination, and is just plain fun.
